16 MM 10 MP Machine Vision Lens for 2/3-Inch C-Mount Industrial Cameras

The Kyptec Automation® 16 MM 10 Megapixel Machine Vision Lens provides a high-resolution optical solution for industrial cameras using the 2/3-inch sensor format. The lens combines a moderately short 16 MM focal length with C-mount compatibility and an F2.8–16 aperture range, creating a balanced optical platform for systems where field of view and image detail must both be carefully controlled.


Compared with 25 MM, 35 MM or 50 MM optics on the same sensor, the 16 MM focal length produces a wider angular field of view. This allows a larger object area to fit onto the camera sensor at a given working distance. Conversely, where the field size is fixed, the shorter focal length can permit the camera to operate closer to the imaging plane.


The 10 MP optical resolution is an important specification when the camera itself uses a high-pixel-count sensor. Machine vision resolution depends on the lens and sensor working together; a high-resolution sensor cannot compensate for insufficient optical resolving performance.


Matching the lens to a 2/3-inch image format also helps avoid unnecessary oversizing of the optical system while maintaining the required sensor coverage. Its F2.8–16 aperture provides practical control over incoming light and depth of field, allowing the system to be optimized according to illumination and object geometry.
